Why: The Games were modeled after the Olympic Games by William Sims and fellow members of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. An original goal of the Games was to provide awareness of Olympic sports and to develop athletic talent from Southern California for future Olympic competition. "We had a great time and actually won a game, which was amazing for my program. Most of my players have just started playing softball. It was a great experience, very well organized.”
Danny Turco, LA Jordan High School Softball

“Thanks for allowing us to compete in the Summer Games. We live in a fast changing rural area and letting our kids see inner-city life is very important for their growth.”
Clay Clifford, Valley Center Wrestling
