2. Contest Description.

The LA Watts Summer Games Video Contest is about recording and submitting an audiovisual recording of your favorite sport and what the mission of the LA Watts Summer Games means to you.  Send your submissions to:

The contest will be conducted in two phases. During the first phase of the contest, participants will be invited to mail an entry video. All submissions will be rated by a panel of judges chosen by the LAWSG Committee.

Ten finalists will be selected at the end of the first phase based on the results of the judging to advance to the second phase.

During the second phase, the public will be asked to select their favorite entry video from the ten videos submitted by the Finalists. The contest entrant who submitted the entry video which receives the most votes during the second phase of the contest will be declared the grand prize winner, subject to verification and compliance with these official rules.

3. Eligibility.

Subject to the additional restrictions below, the Contest is open to all participants of the LA Watts Summer Games at time of entry. Each video submission must be original content.

4. How To Enter.

The Contest will begin at 12:01 a.m. (E.D.T.) on DATE TO BE DETERMINED and end at 11:59 p.m. (E.D.T.) on DATE TO BE DETERMINED (the "Contest Period").

A group of individuals "a group" may collaborate on a Contest Entry, provided all members of the Group meet the eligibility requirements contained in these official rules. The group must designate one person as the agent of the group to enter the contest, agree to these official rules and accept the Grand Prize on behalf of the group. The agent must be identified as such when submitting the registration form and video.

Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, "postage-due," misdirected or illegible entries or for failure to receive entries due to technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Sponsor. All entries become property of Sponsor and none will be returned. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Contest.

Each entry video: (a) must be no more than 2 minutes in total running time; (b) must be formatted and encoded according to the requirements set forth at the contest site (c) must be primarily in English, (d), must be intended for family audience viewing and contain only content that, in the sole discretion of the sponsor, is suitable for all persons over the age of 13, (e), must not, in the sole discretion of the sponsor, contain any sexually explicit, disparaging, libelous or other inappropriate content or any nudity; (f), must not, in the sole discretion of the sponsor, contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service; (g), must not contain any music or other copyrighted works. Any elements appearing in your Entry video, including, without limitation, audio, speech/voiceovers, stills, video, supers or other audiovisual materials used must be entirely original. Use of any elements or other materials that are not original may result in disqualification, in the sponsor's sole discretion.

Sponsors Right to Disqualify: At any time during the contest, The LAWSG Committee reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entry video that it believes contains any inappropriate content, infringes on the right of any third party, or otherwise does not meet any other requirements of these Official Rules. The decisions of the Sponsor on this and all matters relating to the contest are final and binding.

Condition of Contest Entry: As conditions of entry into the Contest each Contest Entrant WARRANTS AND REPRESENTS THAT THE CONTEST ENTRANT OWNS ALL RIGHTS TO THE ENTRY VIDEO HE/SHE IS SUMITTING, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE VIDEO OR DIGITAL RECORDING ITSELF AND THE PERFORMANCE CONTAINED IN EACH ENTRY VIDEO COLLECTIVELY.

WARRANTS AND REPRESENTS THAT THE CONTEST ENTRANT IS THE INDIVIDUAL PICTURED AND HEARD IN THE RECORDING, OR ALTERNATIVELY, THAT THE CONTEST ENTRANT HAS OBTAINED PERMISSION FROM EACH PERSON WHO APPEARS IN THE CONTEST ENTRY MATERIALS TO GRANT THE RIGHTS TO THE PROMOTION ENTITIES DESCRIBED IN THESE RULES AND CAN MAKE WRITTEN COPIES OF SUCH PERMISSIONS AVAILABLE TO PROMOTION ENTITIES UPON REQUEST:

WARRANTS AND REPRESENTS THAT: (a) HIS/HER CONTEST ENTRY MATERIALS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE BEEN LEGALLY OBTAINED AND CREATED AND (b), DO NOT INFRINGE THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, PRIVACY OR PUBLICITY RIGHTS OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR MORAL RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY, OR VIOLATE APPLICABLE LAWS, REGULATIONS OR STANDARDS.

Contest Entry by minors will require a parent or legal guardian to sign any affidavit or release required by Sponsor. Except where prohibited, submission of entry constitutes entrant's consent to the publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or further compensation.

5. Winner Notification and Acceptance. Winners will be notified by telephone or email on or about DATE TO BE DETERMINED. Sponsor will call only once during regular business hours at number provided on entry form and will leave no messages. Failure to reach winner during this call may result in disqualification of winner, forfeiture of his or her interest in all prizes, and selection of a substitute winner from among all remaining eligible entries.” Winners may waive their right to receive prizes. Prizes are non-assignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by winner. Prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Prizes not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor. 6. Participation. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Contest judges. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this Contest as solely determined by Sponsor. In the event the Contest is compromised by a virus, non-authorized human intervention, tampering or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor which corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper operation of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest. Should the Contest be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes based on the entries received before the termination date.

8. Construction. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.

9. Sponsor. The Contest is sponsored by The Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerece. The decisions of Sponsor and Contest judges regarding the selection of winners and all other aspects of the Contest shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to the Contest.
