Elianna David and Dustin Tygret win 2007 Team Play League
After a sizzling heat of 105ºF and 78% humidity at Sycuan Golf Resort in El Cajon, the winners of this year’s Team Play are Elianna David and Dustin Tygret. The winning total was an impressive 62.5 points, 13.5 points more than the second place team, Demi Runas and Tai Kuida, with 49 points. In the Eagle Flight, there was a close match between all 5 teams. Diamond Lew and Garrit Green came in on top with 60 points, 4 points ahead of Ashley Scott and Heather Hansen. A big thank you, to all the parents that volunteered, we had fun and all the juniors played well.

The second day in Sycuan Golf Resort was a Family Fun Day Tournament. Robert Yamamoto, Executive Director of the LAJCC joined a field of 9 juniors, 5 parents, and 2 staff members in a fun day of golf. Closest to the pin on hole #12 was Douglas Daniel and on hole #18 was Emily Chong.
Long Drive competition on hole #13 was won by Kurtis Kuida (Junior Boys), Ariel Linear (Junior Girls), Lisa Grimm (Adult Ladies), and Robert Yamamoto (Adult Men).

Casino to be Presenting Sponsor of 2007 Urban Youth Golf Pro-Am
The
Commerce Casino,
a longtime supporter of the Urban Youth Golf Program renewed
its commitment to the LAJCC's junior golf program by becoming the
"Presenting Sponsor" of the 2007 Pro-Am. Haig Papaian,
Jr., Chairman of the Board at Commerce Casino said of their long
time involvement with the event, "Commerce Casino is about
more than just gaming. We have had a long time commitment to programs
which provide opportunities and enrich the lives of those in our
community, especially its young people. That’s one reason
why we have been a long time supporter of this and other junior
golf programs in our community.”
This
year's event is being run in conjunction with the L.A. County Junior
Golf Foundation and will also benefit the county's junior golf program.
Sheriff Lee Baca, 4th District Supervisor Don Knabe and Assessor
Rick Auerbach are all serving as Honorary Chairmen. The event is
