New Location Opens for Program

On Sunday, January 22, 2005, the Urban Youth Golf Program in partnership with the Public Links Golf Association of Southern California received a grant in the amount of $12,000 to initiate the Program at the Hansen Dam Golf Course in Pacoima.

The San Fernando Valley, particularly the Northeast San Fernando Valley, is in need of targeted junior golf programs. This initiative, which will be formally know as the Urban Youth Golf Program in Pacoima, is an effort to mitigate that programming deficit and bring the same level of at-risk junior golf programming in the Pacoima/Sylmar area as now exists in Los Angeles. The hope in the near future is to extend this programming a little southward and eastward to Van Nuys.
