Q:
What is it?
A: Kids Skate brings together
youth from the Safe Passage Tennis and Urban Youth Golf programs
for a half-day of roller skating, games, prizes and lunch. The
event is typically held in February before the Nissan Open gets
underway and volunteer hours are allocated to the tournament during
one of the busiest time of the LAJCC's calendar year.
Q:
What can volunteers expect to do?
A: Volunteers help register skaters,
lace up skates, skate and play games with youth, help get snacks
and pass out candy and prizes.
Q:
How many volunteers can help?
A: Typically, between 35 and 50 volunteers
are needed.
Q:
What kind of time commitment is expected?
A: The activity usually begins at 8:00
am and ends at 12:00 pm for day-of-event volunteers. The Chair
and other committee members spend advance time planning the event.
